The Australian Peacekeeping Memorial competition celebrates fifty years of Australian peacekeeping. The competition entry symbolically formalises the geographical reach of those operations through a three dimensional structure that becomes a podium space for private remembrance and reflection. This then extends out to becomes a finely articulated hard-scape of Australian cut stone that allows for larger gatherings and the presentation of speeches. A meadow of flowers covers a larger enclosing sculpted earth form. That space of communion emerges as a field that affirms the living.
